Good news for everyone in the North of the Netherlands: Holtkamper is back.

Since our departure from Emmen in mid-2024, we unfortunately had to move to Utrecht for service, maintenance and sales. For many that meant an extra distance, while convenience, freedom and sustainability are central to camping with a Holtkamper.

That’s about to change!

From May 9 you are welcome to visit our new dealer in Assen: Camping Assen.

A new home in the North

With the arrival of Camping Assen, we bring Holtkamper closer to you again. An important step, because we believe that good advice, reliable service and personal contact should always be within reach. Camping Assen is a brand new venue with a fresh look and a clear focus: making camping accessible, comfortable and, above all, fun.

Experienced campers at the helm

Behind Kampeer Assen are Wouter and Bas, two enthusiastic entrepreneurs with a great passion for camping. In the summer of 2024 – after a fine summer vacation – it was time to make an appointment for the maintenance of their own camping equipment. The local caravan center was contacted for this purpose. As it turned out, the owners indicated that they would like to enjoy their retirement from January 2025. And so Camping Assen became a fact! As experienced campers, Bas and Wouter know exactly what you need on the road and at the campsite. You will notice this practical experience immediately, whether it is about choosing the right model, smart accessories or tips for your next trip. Because these gentlemen have no lack of enthusiasm and knowledge!

All Models Under One Roof

At the Camping Assen showroom from May 9, 2026, all our models will be on full display so you can experience for yourself what “small on the road, big at the destination” means. From the smart set-up convenience to the comfort and space on the campsite, everything is geared towards making your trip as carefree as possible. Holtkampers are made for decades of camping fun. Also for service and maintenance Not only for the purchase of a new Holtkamper you can come to Assen. You have also come to the right place for service, maintenance and advice. So you are always assured of the quality and reliability you have come to expect from Holtkamper, now just nearby.

With Camping Assen, Holtkamper is again firmly represented in the North. And we are proud of that. Whether you are orienting on your first Holtkamper or have been on the road for years: you are welcome to drop by and experience the models for yourself.

At Holtkamper, we have been making camping equipment that will last for generations for nearly 100 years. Our products are known for their quality and longevity, and we fully stand behind every Holtkamper we make. Purchasing “discarded” Holtkampers to then refurbish them has been a regular part of our work for years. In this way we ensure that existing Holtkampers can continue their adventures for years to come.

Still, one issue remained that made us less happy: the cutting loss from our production. We work with high-quality Ten Cate tent cloth, and it simply feels a shame to have to throw away these strong and durable materials. Strong material, with still so many possibilities.

And then suddenly there was Atelier Revive. They saw no residual material, but opportunities. And so a collaboration was born that perfectly matches what Holtkamper stands for: sustainable, well thought-out and made to last.

What is Atelier Revive?

Atelier Revive has a clear mission: to make the world a cleaner and more social place. They do this by upcycling residual materials into new, useful products, while at the same time creating jobs for people distanced from the labor market.
After all, there is plenty. Enough material. Enough talent. Yet a lot still ends up on the garbage heap, while there are also many people who would like to work, but cannot easily find their place in the regular work field. Atelier Revive believes this can be done differently.

By upcycling textile waste into new products, they create jobs for women with a migration background in the Ede region. On the shop floor, attention is paid to language, personal development and growth. This gives these women the opportunity to gain work experience and take steps towards a full place in society. A great initiative that perfectly matches our desire not to let materials go to waste.

From leftover pieces of Ten Cate tent cloth and groundsheet, Atelier Revive made a series of unique Holtkamper items. Practical in use, sustainably produced and recognizable by the iconic Holtkamper material.

Carrying bag

This sturdy carry bag is made of Ten Cate tent canvas in our iconic orange and white. A bag that can take a beating and is perfect for everyday use. Take it with you to the supermarket, the camping store or to work. Thanks to the double-stitched handles, you will carry it comfortably even when it is well packed. Limited edition

With the Holtkamper x Revive collection, our iconic tent material gets a second life. Leftover pieces that would otherwise go to waste are transformed into practical items you can use every day. Sustainable, socially produced and each one unique. No mass production, but handmade with attention and craftsmanship. Each bag is made from leftover material from our own production. This means that no item is the same and the numbers are limited for now.

Another cool bag or organizer? The Holtkamper x Revive items are now available in our showroom in Utrecht!

As of now, our new luxury anthracite kitchen with bamboo accents is on display in our showrooms. This kitchen replaces the bamboo kitchen and has been improved in several ways. For example, the kitchen is now equipped with built-in electrical outlets and USB sockets. If you are still interested in a bamboo kitchen, it is still available while supplies last. We look forward to seeing you in our showrooms in Utrecht or Boxtel or by appointment in Emmen.

At Holtkamper we believe in good service and optimal quality of our products. For these reasons we have decided to centralize the service activities of the Emmen branch in our Utrecht branch and have added the Vouwwagenpecialist from Boxtel as an additional Holtkamper service point. All scheduled service appointments up to and including August 1, 2024 will simply take place in Emmen. For appointments after August 1, you can schedule an appointment in Utrecht via the Holtkamper website. You can schedule a service appointment at the Vouwwagenpecialist through their website. Preparing for winter storage of your Holtkamper

The camping season is coming to an end, and that means your Holtkamper may soon be back in storage. With the right preparation, you can ensure that your trailer tent will be fresh and problem-free again next spring. Below you will find practical tips for getting your Holtkamper through the winter.

1. Get repairs and maintenance done on time

Would you like to have minor or major repairs done? Then arrange this before you put the Holtkamper in storage. In spring it is often busy at the service department, so you have to wait unnecessarily.

2. Rinse salt and sand well

Did you camp at the coast? Then rinse the tent fabric thoroughly to remove salt residue. This will prevent deterioration of the material.

3. Make sure the cloth is clean and dry

Prevent mold and nasty odors:

• Let the tent fabric dry thoroughly before folding.

• Loosen dirt with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.

• Never use soap, this will affect the impregnation.

Don’t forget the mattress! Allow this to air well, as moisture absorbed overnight can fester with prolonged storage.

4. Clean the outside as well

Before collapsing the Holtkamper for the winter, clean and dry the outside as well. A damp cloth or a mild soak with the garden hose will suffice.

5. Pay attention to tire pressure

During the winter, tire pressure slowly decreases.
➤ Therefore, pump an additional 0.5 to 1 bar into the tires before storing the trailer tent.
➤ In the spring, return the pressure to the correct level (see manual).

6. Remove gas cylinders from the car

Always remove gas cylinders before winter storage.
Store them upright, in a cool, dry place – outside the vehicle.

7. Store guy ropes and rubber bands separately

Guy ropes and guy ropes can retain moisture. Remove them from the tent and store them loose to prevent mold and wear.

8. Empty the trailer of sensitive items

Do not leave products that may spoil, freeze or leak:

• Food and drink

• Liquids from the chemical toilet

• Water bottles or storage vials

Also remove all batteries from devices such as pumps, flashlights and radios. Batteries can leak, damaging equipment beyond repair.

These simple steps will ensure that your Holtkamper makes it through the winter in top condition. And in the spring? Just get in, unfold and enjoy.

From the First Screw to a Ready-to-Use Folding Trailer
From the very beginning of the collaboration, an intensive process was initiated between Holtkamper and IBN. The engineers, team leaders, and employees at IBN have completely deconstructed the folding trailer and reduced the nearly 400 components to 35 documented assembly steps. This step-by-step approach enables IBN’s employees to methodically assemble the folding trailers, ensuring consistent quality. The entire process is carefully mapped out, from the first screw to the final, ready-to-use trailer.

100% Faultless
The assembly is carried out following a fixed methodology. At multiple workstations, employees simultaneously handle various assembly steps, from constructing the chassis to installing the tent. The entire electrical system, from the plug on the drawbar to the lights in the bumper, is also completed by IBN employees.

Only with 100% flawless assembly does the folding trailer receive its inspection sticker and is allowed to leave the Oss facility.
