Patented technology
How does the Holtkamper Kyte’s WindForce® system work?
The WindForce® system is an automatic inflation system developed and patented by Holtkamper, designed for campers who want to make setting up their folding trailer even easier. Thanks to the WindForce® system, setting up the Kyte is largely automated: the setup process starts with the push of a button, after which the tent unfolds on its own. On average, the Kyte is fully set up and ready for camping in about 15 minutes, even when set up by just one person.

The WindForce® system operates on the principle of air pressure. A powerful fan located under the bed blows air into the closed tent, creating positive pressure. This positive pressure causes the tent structure to unfold and become taut. Unlike inflatable tents, WindForce® does not use inflatable tubes. So there is nothing that can leak or wear out over time.
The updated WindForce® system can also be used as a ventilation system to provide additional mechanical cooling on hot days.
A major advantage of the Kyte is that it doesn’t require separate tent poles, guy lines, or complicated instructions. This makes the system user-friendly and ensures that even less experienced campers can easily set up the folding trailer. In addition, gas springs assist with setting up and folding down the trailer—even without electricity, the Kyte remains easy to handle.
Ease of Setup
How quickly can the Holtkamper Kyte be set up?
The Holtkamper Kyte WindForce® is fully set up and ready for camping in about 15 minutes and can be pitched by a single person. Thanks to the WindForce® system, the setup process is started with the push of a button. As a result, setting it up requires significantly less effort than with a traditional family tent.
Step-by-Step Setup Procedure
| 01 | Place the Kyte in the desired location and make sure the folding trailer is stable using the 4 extendable legs. |
| 02 | Remove the soft top, lower the support legs, and set up the groundsheet. Then connect the WindForce® system. |
| 03 | Activate the WindForce® system. As the tent unfolds, guide it into position and secure the final frame sections. |
| 04 | Setting up the awning: Open the zipper and the Velcro on the door. Slide out the awning with the carbon pole and raise the pole. |
| 05 | Tighten the mast strap on the drawbar side of the trailer. |
| 06 | Set up the roof extensions. Tension the roof beams and zip the roof extensions closed. |
| ✓ | Secure the corners of the awning with 5 stakes on each side. Attach the side panels as desired. Ready for use. |
Be sure to watch the Kyte WindForce® instructional video for a complete demonstration of the setup process.
Comfort for the whole family
Staying at the Kyte: Comfortable for Two, or the Whole Family
The Kyte is designed for comfortable camping, whether with just two people or the whole family. The fixed bed measures 210 × 155 centimeters and features a fold-up slatted base with gas springs and a comfortable cold-foam mattress. The mattress is also reversible and offers two different levels of firmness, allowing you to adjust the sleeping comfort to your own preference.
For families, the Kyte can be expanded with an optional children’s tent. This creates three additional sleeping spots, increasing the total sleeping capacity to a maximum of five people. This way, everyone has their own place to sleep, while the living space inside the tent remains intact.

To ensure a comfortable indoor climate, the Kyte comes standard with the Membrane Airco tent system. This patented double-roof system uses breathable membrane material that helps regulate heat and moisture. In addition to natural ventilation through the breathable tent fabric, the WindForce® system can also be used for extra ventilation on hot days.
The standard tub-shaped groundsheet also adds to the comfort. This tub-shaped groundsheet fits snugly around the tent and provides an extra barrier against moisture, drafts, and insects. As a result, the living space is better protected against wet ground and changing weather conditions.
Standard included
The Kyte’s kitchen: everything you have at home
The Kyte WindForce® comes standard with an integrated outdoor kitchen. While a kitchen is optional on some folding trailers—or missing entirely—the Kyte comes equipped with a complete cooking setup right out of the box. This allows you to cook at the campground just as you’re used to at home.

The kitchen has three gas burners. By comparison, the optional kitchen in the Holtkamper Astro has two gas burners. In addition, the Kyte features a 40-liter Dometic compressor refrigerator, so fresh food and chilled beverages are always within reach.
Storage space has also been taken into account. The kitchen is equipped with two spacious shelves and several drawers for cookware, dishes, and pantry items. This keeps everything neatly organized, so you don’t have to keep searching for loose crates or storage boxes.
A major advantage of the Kyte is that it comes standard with a kitchen. With the Holtkamper Aero and Astro, a kitchen is optional, while the Nano is not available with a kitchen. The kitchen features durable bamboo accents, which give it a warm look and a high-quality finish.
Three technologies
What Makes the Kyte Unique
The Kyte stands out thanks to a number of smart solutions that enhance comfort, ease of use, and durability.
In addition, the Kyte is built on a galvanized AL-KO chassis from Alois Kober GmbH, and a bike rack mounted on the drawbar is available for active campers—capable of holding two bikes, eliminating the need for a separate bike rack on the car.

Kyte or Aero WindForce® with a kitchen?
Both feature the WindForce® system, an integrated kitchen, and the option to add a children’s tent. The main difference lies in the available living space: the interior space with the Kyte’s tub-style groundsheet is 305 cm deep, compared to 235 cm for the Aero with kitchen. The overall layout is also larger: 815 cm deep compared to 775 cm. If you’re looking for maximum living space, the Kyte offers the most room; if you’re looking for the same amenities in a more compact design, the Aero with kitchen is an interesting alternative.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything You Want to Know About the Kyte
How much does the Holtkamper Kyte cost?
The Kyte is available starting at €29,995. For this price, you get, among other things, the WindForce® system (including a ventilation system for extra cooling), an integrated kitchen with three gas burners and a Dometic refrigerator, the Membrane Airco tent system, a tub-style groundsheet, and the Pack-N-Go system. Using the configurator, you can further customize the Kyte with various options and accessories.
How many people can the Holtkamper Kyte accommodate?
The Kyte comes standard with sleeping space for two people on a 210 × 155 cm bed. With the optional children’s tent, the sleeping capacity can be expanded to a maximum of five people.
How does the WindForce® system work?
The WindForce® system uses air pressure. A fan under the bed blows air into the closed tent, creating positive pressure and automatically starting the setup process. Because the system does not use inflatable tubes, there is nothing that can leak.
What kind of car do you need to tow a Holtkamper Kyte?
With a curb weight of approximately 580 kg and a maximum allowable mass of 750 kg, the Kyte can be towed by many modern passenger cars, including electric cars. An average family car with a towing capacity of approximately 1,400 kg is more than sufficient. Check your vehicle’s maximum towing capacity in the vehicle registration certificate (Part 1B) or in the owner’s manual. Because the Kyte has a maximum allowable mass of 750 kg, a standard Class B driver’s license is sufficient in most situations.
What is the difference between the Kyte and the Aero?
Both the Kyte WindForce® and the Aero WindForce® feature the WindForce® system and can be expanded with a children’s tent. The main difference lies in the available living space: the interior space with the tub-style groundsheet in the Kyte is 305 cm deep, compared to 235 cm in the Aero with a kitchen. The overall layout is also larger: 815 cm deep compared to 775 cm. As a result, the Kyte is particularly appealing to families seeking maximum space, while the Aero is geared more toward campers who want the same amenities in a more compact size.
