Would you like to be able to drive your Holtkamper at speeds of up to 100 km/h in Germany? If so, you’ll need a Tempo 100 exemption. Not every Holtkamper meets this requirement as standard.
Older Holtkamper folding trailers require shock absorbers, among other things, to meet German regulations. These can be installed on Holtkamper models manufactured in 2003 or later.
In addition, the age of the tires plays an important role. To qualify for the Tempo 100 exemption, the tires must not be more than 6 years old. Therefore, always check the tires’ date of manufacture when you are considering a Tempo 100 inspection.
Whether your specific Holtkamper is eligible for the exemption depends on the model and the technical condition of the folding trailer. The final inspection for the Tempo 100 exemption can be conducted by TÜV or DEKRA, among others.
