In October 2008 at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, Holtkamper introduced the Kyte, a revolutionary tent trailer that immediately became its new flagship. The Kyte stands out for its kite-like shape and integrated luxury kitchen, but especially for its clever set-up concept: the automatic awning and front tent are held up by a carbon mast from the main tent.
After more than a year and a half of development, the Kyte is full of innovations, several of which are patented. Most notable is the No Pole Awning, a guy line-less awning system that floats above the ground, so to speak, and requires no loose poles. You just tension the ends and the floating carbon pole keeps the awning taut, even in storms. The system was extensively tested on a cliff in Normandy and passed that test with flying colors.
